Supporting National Public Radio

Radio

For more than 30 years, Amita Vadlamudi has been working in the information technology sector. Amita Vadlamudi gives to several charitable organizations, including the American Red Cross and National Public Radio (NPR).

Founded in 1970, the award-winning media organization NPR develops and distributes news content for nearly 1,000 independent radio stations across America. On average, NPR programming reaches close to 30 million listeners every week. At present, NPR operates a news channel, a music channel, national labs, and a number of digital services.

Largely a publicly funded organization, NPR seeks to remain as unbiased as possible in its reports. Listeners are encouraged to make tax-deductible donations to the station in order to maintain and advance popular programs such as All Things Considered and Morning Edition. Additionally, the NPR website allows visitors to purchase merchandise that both supports and promotes the station; available products include tea shirts, coffee mugs, and tote bags.

You can become a member and support NPR by donating as little as $60 or $5 a month. When you sign up as a member, you will also be able to choose gifts like umbrellas, books and magazine subscriptions.
